Lymphatic Massage (Lymphatic Drainage) is ideal for a full and effective recovery after any type of surgery. It is the base of all treatments. By moving the lymphatic fluid away from the area with lymphatic drainage massage, both swelling and bruising are reduced. This helps to make the results more immediately apparent. After a surgical procedure tissue can produce excess lymphatic fluid as the body reacts to the traumatic action of the insertion of cannulas and removal of fat. Even with less intrusive procedures, some patients may experience a degree of tissue disruption, leading to an accumulation of excess fluid, called edema.
